Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

Open House

Tonight was open house at Nick's new school. He moved from Woodland Middle School over to Bartow Academy. He likes it there and he says all of the teacers are nice. I went and met them tonight, and I agree they are all very nice. It was a good change for him. It is only for the end of this year but it has already made a big difference in his attitude towards going to school. Sometimes change is a good thing.

Yes change is not always a bad thing, we need change sometimes to get us moving!

A new school can make all the difference in the world. One teacher "gifts" a child with a bad rep, and that rep spreads around the school. From that point on, almost every thing that child does is examined only in the worst possible light. A new school provides a clan slate and no preconceived ideas.

Liking where you go to school is a big help.

my son had the hardest time going from elementary to middle school this last year.

But when you can get a really good school or awesome teacher it can make all the difference in the world.

so glad he's doing good.

Hi Catch so good to see you, I have been over a few times and noticed you have been busy, away from blogger......so I am glad to hear fro you. Everything been okay?

Richie is stupid.......even driving yourself while drunk is silly, but with you children. Far worse than anything britany spears did.

Hi akela, he is not good with change usually, but this was a good one. For him.

Hi quilly, I think all the teachers liked Nick, but he has social problems with other kids. for some reason he is the kid to pick on, and he won't stick up for himself.

Last night everyone said what a sweet boy he was, and a hard learner and they were so glad to have him. He is a very easy student to have in a class, he doesn't talk, he does his work, and he gets good grades. but the kids still pick on him.

Hi Dr. John, Nick has hated school from day one, and he has had some pretty bad experiences along the way. I won't go into them, but if all my kids had this hard of a time, I would have tossed in the towel years ago.

Hi Burfica, Nick did also, middle school has not been easy for him. Not at all. having six different teachers, constantly changing classrooms, every teaching asking something different of them, and the kids constantly teasing and making him sad. It has been a terrifying experience for all of us. Ana had similar problems, girls can be pretty mean also. I took her out of school and homed schooled her for a year and a half, to help her over the hump. And I was going to do the same with Nick. but I think he will be okay now.

Hi Libby, I am with you on change, and the older I get the more I dislike it....really. I konw that change can be good, but for the most part it just makes my life more difficult. I now have to drive Nick 30 min to and from school each day, and with the price of gas, that is a lot.

Hi Bill, there have been times in my life when I needed change so badly, I moved clear across the US. But not likely to do anything that drastic again, well not unless something to good to pass up should come along. There are times that I am very unhappy here, but I have learned that I have to make my own happiness. Can't rely on anyone else to do it for me. Tried that once, and failed miserably....I guess that is why I love flowers so much, they are pretty consistent. haha
