Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

A Week of Rest

All this next week the kids are out of school and I can sleep in till 9 or 10. To me that is the best part of vacation. I stay up late, and I like to sleep in late. the most wonderful part of being retired is being able to pick your own hours to sleep.

The weather report said we are in for rain for the next four days, so it will be a wonderful time to move baby plants around in my yard. I have little creeping phlox coming up all over the place, in the paths and in the ditch. Places where they will not survive, so I am going to dig them up and move them onto the bank above the creek. I like to work in the rain, a soft rain, it it refreshing and keep me cool. I can work up quite a sweat when I work in the yard. So the cool mist will be welcome. Of course if it comes down by the bucket, as if often does here in Georgia, I won't be working in the yard. But a gently rain, I love to work under.

Well I am off to bed. I watched a few movies and cooked dinner. I am leaving the dishes until in the morning. I ran out of energy. Tomorrow night I will go back down in the basement and work on sanding the walls getting rain to paint and paper. It is coming along, even if it is slow work. About two hours is the most I can do up on a ladder and then my legs begin to ache.

good night......

Spring Break was over today and I was back to school. Wander by my blog, do some bird watching and scroll down for my day on the beach with the sea turtles.

I'm now on the second week of my Easter break and the latest I've stayed in bed in 8.45 a.m. This is a long lie-in for me because I am usually up at 6 a.m. when I'm working. I don't feel rested though because we've been busy decorating! :(

I could never work in the rain. I would get a horrible cold. I hope you finish that room soon so you have more time for the garden.

It was raining yesterday- a light spring mist. I had to have my window open as I drove so I could feel the rain hitting me. I suspect my passengers think I am cuckoo...

The nice warm rains that sprinkle down are the best. Have you ever noticed it is in the mists and soft rains that you get wetter than in a downpour.

Glad you are enjoying your retirement Nea,

PS ~ Is that your feet we are seeing in the picture?
