Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

School's Out

The kids are now out of school, and our routine has changed a bit. One thing, we sleep in later. We stay up later, and we eat whenever we are hungry, but at no particular time. In other words our life in the summer has little structure. It might not be all that good for kids, but the adults really enjoy it.

Ana works at her job more now, and the rest of the time she zips around from here to there getting ready for college. She has already done the preliminary work of registering and filling out all the paperwork. It isn't like I can help her, she doesn't allow for us to meddle in her affairs. She wants to be totally independent. I raised her to be this way, I can't very well complain now. She has her own accounts, her own credit cards, her own car, job, and money. All make for an independent young adult.

We went to the show last night and saw “Indiana Jones and the Legend of the Crystal Skull.” Although it was quite predictable, I enjoyed it. I like knowing that the good guys won't get killed and the bad guys will. Of course it wasn't as good as the first Indiana Jones, but then, are they ever. Nick, Tom and I went, when we got home we found out that Ana and her boyfriend had also gone, but they were in a different theater showing. I told the boys, we are going to go to the show and see something twice a month. I enjoyed getting out, and I like watching movies on the big screen. There is something so much more grand about a movie when it is seen on a huge movie screen.

Nothing earth shaking will be happening this summer I doubt. I had plans to go to Effie, which we will do, but don't know exactly when, I have to go to California to see Mom, that will probably be in July. And then I will just spend the rest of the summer being lazy.

I have been feeling a bit better, but not exactly energized. So I still am going to just rest and enjoy my coffee on the porch and not worry about anything that I can't change, or anything I can't fix. I have reached a time in my life, that I need to get over a lot of baggage, and stop worrying so much.

HI Libby, I guess taking a break if okay....I was never the kind that thought so, but lately life is just one big break. Well after Memorial day. I never cooked so many meals in my life.....everyone was hungry all the time. And I didn't use paper plates or cups, so I did dishes till I had little wrinkled fingers. So NOW, I am taking it easy. :)

Hi Quilly,

I will have to get out the globe, I guess you are right aren't you.....you aren't that far away. haha. I would love to visit Hawaii. Always wanted to, but just never got around to it. I need to come to both your and Libby's blogs and see what you guys are up to. I haven't been even visiting blogs lately, that is how lazy I have been. I just haven't spent much time on the computer at all. never thought that would happen, but lately I just don't turn it on.
