Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

June Showers

Woke up this morning to thunder and lightening and the sound of heavy rain. One of those days when you just roll over and take another 10 minutes. But instead, I got up. The house is silent and rather cold. I made a pot of coffee and went out on the back porch only to find my chair a bit damp. So I came back in and decided to write a quick post while I finish my coffee and then I am returning to bed. I had a rough night, and so this day is going to be a bit rough also. If anyone thinks that just willing yourself to be well works........have another thought. I ignore my illness as much as humanly possible, but it really isn't possible.

I have the shelves up in Nick's closet, I have been working on them this whole week. Putting in shelving is hard work. But once you get the brackets in square and level, putting the shelves up is simple. I need to get three more brackets and another 6 feet of shelving. His closet is large and it will hold a lot. But I have found that you can not have to much storage space. His room is getting closer and closer to occupancy. I will have the rugs installed once I have all of the sanding done on the family room next door. It is a very messy job, and even though it isn't the same room, the sanded dust will drift over into his bedroom, and I don't want to ruin the new carpeting. So I won't have the carpet laid until I have the middle room close to completion. It is a huge room, 16 feet across and somewhere near 35 feet long. One side has drop ceiling and the other has a finished ceiling. In the middle there is a dropped box that covers all of the plumbing and wiring, which more of less divides the two rooms, and is finished like the ceiling. It only hangs down a couple of feet, so the room is actually one long room. I am going to put a fireplace against the wall, in the middle, and I want to complete that also before the carpeting. So it maybe a while yet before Nick actually gets to move down there. But I think it is probably a good thing. He is still a bit nervous about "living" in the basement. Ana's room is right next door, but Ana and Nick are about as different as night and day.

Well back to bed....I need more sleep.

Some days you just need to go back to bed and stay there.

I need to put shelves up in my kids room, I really really do.

Hi quilly, it used to be.......:):) I could easily work on my feet for 12 hours back when I was well. Now, an hour and I am done for......

I think sleep is the answer, and then when I try to sleep, I can't......so I really don't get that much sleep.

Hi Burfica, there is nothing I like better than lying in bed with my window open and it raining, only problem, the rain comes in......so I like the porch, but if it is windy, well......I get we there also.

I have put so many shelves up in the basement. I will have storage to spare. That is the one thing lacking in this house, storage, but no more.

I am putting up way more shelves than clothes bars in Nick's closet, when does a boy ever "hang" up anything?
