Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

Texas for the 4th

We are leaving on a trip to Texas to spend the 4th of July with my son and his family. They are going to have a big party and fireworks. The party I could pass on, but not the fireworks, nor getting to see my new grandson. I went to Big lots and bought a present for the baby and one for Andrew, and now I have to get the van packed for the trip. It is a bit chancy taking it on a long trip, but if it breaks down, well I call always call a tow truck I guess. haha

Don't know how long I will stay, nor when I will be back because I am going to swing by the place in Effie on the way home, and stay there for awhile. This was sudden, my son called this morning, and I just decided on the spur of the moment to go. I will spend the rest of today watering and leaving instructions for Ana on what to water while I am gone. I have a few plants that need to be set out. They will have a better chance of surviving outside in the ground than in a pot on the back porch. Even the cat runs the risk of being neglected when he is left in Ana's care. She forgets things. I will make up a big note, "FEED CAT." Hopefully he will not be too skinny when I get back home. I would take him along, but cats and traveling are not that great together. And he is kind of a scaredy cat anyway. So it is best to leave him in the environment that he is used to. He has a routine, which I am sure won't be kept like it was when I was here, but hopefully she will remember him once in awhile and not let him starve.

I am not sure how much computer time, or blogging time I will have while on my trip. Once I get to Effie the connection there is very slow and it is free. You know how things that are free work......slowly. Anyway I only use the computer for essentials not for pleasure. I doubt I will stay long, but I have to get the place ready to sell. I am now ready for that next step. It will be hard, as all dreams that die are hard, but it is time.

Hi Libby, I had planned to stay home, but my son called this morning and asked us if we would come. So decided, why not. It is a long trip, but I want to go. So getting ready......just have to pack a ditty bag. haha.....

Hi burfica, we will have a good time, and it will be good to spend time with the kids, let them do the cooking for a change. My son loves to barbecue, so that will be nice, although not sure I can eat barbecue anymore. Will have to see if I can find some gf barbecue sauce. I love my barbecue.

The baby will be a year old in August, man times flies.......

Hi Quilly, I will no doubt get a break to blog at my son's, but if Effie I probably won't even try. I am going to bring that computer home here to Georgia, and a few other things. No sense leaving them there.....I need to empty the house and just rent it or sell it I guess....sigh.

Hi Elween, I left the kitty cat at home with my daughter, hopefully she is feeding him. he will have his nose bent out of shape anyway because he is used to having my lap to sit on....haha

Hi bill, I stopped by and left you a quick note. I am still in Texas and will be here for a few days longer. Then on to Effie, and then back home, as long as it rains, I can stay out here. When the rain stops I got to get home and water the flowers....
