Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

Weekend Projects

(one room in the basement finished, a few more to go, that light laying on the floor
is now attached to the ceiling in the
basement family room )

I have no plans for the weekend aside from calling the phone company and changing my phone number. Then if I feel like it I am going to work in the yard a bit, I bought a few chrysanthemums and I want to get them planted along the creek. If I don't feel like planting, they can just soak up sun on the front porch.

I am in a strange frame of mind lately. For such a long time I was always in a hurry, it seemed that there was always something that needed to be done, and I was always rushing to try and get it done. But lately I have just sat and looked at the things that need to be done and said to myself, let someone else do them. haha. The joke here is, there isn't anyone else who will do them. If I don't, they won't get done. I need to finish the basement, clean out the garage, prune all the old stuff off my plants, finish the paths that I started in the back yard. I have another shed that I wanted to build for the lawnmower. And I have a few more castle (retaining) walls to build. I think when you own a home, there is never a time that you actually get done with all the work. There is always something more that can be finished. Every room could use new paint, and I have a few more closet doors that need installing. I need to build a brick, stone, or tile wall behind the place I am going to install the gas stove downstairs. My only problem is I haven't decided exactly what I want or how I am going to build it, so I just think about it. I would like to get the downstairs completely done this year.

I am feeling a bit better physically, maybe in the not to distant future I can actually get started on a few of these projects. This weekend I won't be doing all that much, just thinking about all that needs to be done. But around the first of September when it starts to cool off, maybe then.

I was going to ask why the seiling fixture was napping on a pillow on the floor, but I'm sure it just wanted a different perspective of the room.
