Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

Renewal

Eight years ago.

Today

Eight years ago when I first planted this flower bed, this is the way it looked when I got done. Today, the flowers are all gone, but the azaleas, although not really looking that great, have grown twice this size. The roses are mostly gone, they do not like the humidity of the South. And the liriope grass in the corners had turned into three foot wide clumps so I dug them out and moved them. Azaleas do not bloom all that well on this side of the house because they get to much hot sun in the hottest part of the day. So the flowers always get burnt, and lately some of the growth has been drying up and dieing. So I am moving them to the shade in the back of the yard. I am going to redo this flower bed sometime this week. It is a big project because I am totally starting from scratch. Will take a picture when I am done.

I can't wait till I can plant flowers, grass and tree's on this new lot. Still trying to get all the construction stuff squared away so we can fix the yard up so I can plant.

Looking forward to the pictures of the finished project. I'd like to do things like this with our back yard. I have in the back (way, way back) of my mind the idea of making our backyard something of a small park. Like I said- it's way back there...
Hope you are feeling better.
