Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

I am remodeling and have about six projects all going at the same time. I am painting the front porch, I am staining and finishing the stairs to the basement, I am hanging shelves in the basement, I have fall bulbs to plant, I need to put up a new mailbox, trees and bushes to prune and I want to finish my bridge over the creek before the rains begin..... and the list goes much to do, so few daylight hours. I have most of the basement done now, and ready to put down the carpeting. But I want to finish the stairs to the basement first. Once they are done then I will order the carpeting......

It has been a long project, I started this about seven years ago, but illness made it impossible for me to work for several years. I am feeling better now, and have once again begun some of the projects that need finishing. The entire house needs painting, but I just do a bit each day. I promised Nick he would be in his basement bedroom before he started High School, he is now in his Junior year. I am now trying to finish before Christmas. I have the stairs to finish staining, and the trim to put up......

I am painting the walls in the stairwell and have them just about finished, all except the very middle part where I can not figure out where to put the ladder. Very hard to put a ladder on stairs.....

Hi Nea

It's been a while. You certainly have been very busy.

Forgive my lack of blog of the past few years. Life caught up with me. I hope life is good for you and the kids (I say kids, but they're probably like mine and are now adults).

Glad to see you are still here.

Lots of love
