Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

Summer Nears End

I have seen a change in the weather, not just the fact it is a bit cooler, but the leaves are starting to fall from the trees, and I think that fall is just around the corner. Usually the first of September we see a drop in temperature of about 10 degrees. It will be such a welcome relief this year, it has been a long hot summer for the south.

Hi Nea, found you at last

Sorry It's been so long. Well, you've had a hot one and we've had a wet one, either way, summer has been a bit strange this year.

Hi Pete, thank you...

I lost my other blog, due to an error on my part, and not knowing exactly how blogger works, guess there is no way to recover it....so I just started over.

We have had one of the hottest summers on record....but it is nearing it's end. The temperature next week is going back down to the 90's.

I wish we'd had a long hot summer, even a short hot summer would have been nice. :)

Hi akelamalu, I am not a hot weather person anymore. I love the cool, misty, wet days, they make me feel good. Although I have to admit, while my eyes were sore, the heat did feel good on my face. But for the most part, I just can't take this heat anymore. I guess you have the kind of weather that I like......lots of rain. I always thought that it rained a lot here in the south, but it really hasnt' this year, nor most of the years since I have lived here.

Fall is arriving early this year, the leaves are starting to turn already here in Calgary. Next week when I am on holidays and visiting my Sister in Ontario everything will still be green. Justs gives an idea of how big this Continent is.

How quick as this year passed by? It's frightning how life passers by. The evenings are getting cold here, never mind I'll just get another woollie out of the cupboard!!!!

I love the Autumn and its flowers. those early mornings with a sharpness in the air, dew on the hedgerows and pearlescent cobwebs everywhere.

Hi Bill, good to hear that you are going to visit your sister, I know how much you enjoy your visits.

I am glad for fall this year, can't wait till the leaves change, it won't be long now.

HI Queenie, that is the wonderful thing about cold, I can bundle up and get warm, but I have a hard time getting cool. Or at least I did this year. I can't believe that Christmas is just around the corner.....Yikes

Hi Avus, we have had misty, cool morning the last few days, I go out on the porch and drink it in with my coffee. For some reason that cool moist air just makes me feel so wonderful. It feels soft, and I just love it.
