Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

Cold, Cold, Cold

The temperature has dropped to 34 degrees tonight. That is cold for this time of year. We go right from summer into winter. I just can't get quite used to not having a fall. We are supposed to have one, but for some reason it doesn't seem that we do. I need to go out and bring in my plants on the porch, and cover a few things outside just in case. But it is almost 6am and if they haven't frozen yet, I don't think they will tonight. Time to turn on the heat pad and roll into bed. I have to be back up in one hour, I suppose there isn't much use going to bed now, might as well wait until I get the kids off to school and then go to bed. I was up all night, no particular reason, just didn't feel sleepy.

I would miss Fall. But cold evenings don't mean no Fall as long as the days get up into the fifties.

We woke up to snow on the ground. It is right at freezing as I post this comment. It is sunny but cold.

Enjoy your last week of longer days before night comes. On Saturday Night/Sunday Morning the clocks go back one hour to Standard time.

I hate winter, the nights are drawing in here in the UK and it is getting cold. Brrrr.

Hi Dr. John, yes that is true, it is 65 today, so I guess the cold nights shouldn't matter, after all I am in where it is mostly warm. Haha, we haven't turned the heat on yet, but soon......

Hi Bill, some people here are a bit confused because they changed the clock setting back for a week. It used to be the last weekend in Oct. So there were people late for work on Monday.....

I am not really complaining about the cold, we had such a long hot summer, I was actually looking forward to it cooling off.

HI akela, well at least my hot cup of coffee tastes so much better now. I used to sit on the porch and sweat and drink my coffee. I looked like a fool. haha
