Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

Drizzle

Our rains began this morning, and as far ahead as our weather is projected, it looks like more rain. I am one of those people who feels best in moist, rainy weather. So when I hear people bemoaning the fact that it is raining, I just smile. Different strokes for different folks I suppose.

I went for a walk in the rain, and I came upon this old tree in the woods behind my house. The opening is large enough for small children to play inside. I would imagine small animals have taken refuge from many a storm under the protection of this stump.

It looks like a place I'd visit often if it was near me. did you ever get the kaleidoscope to work?

Hi cindy, no I never did get the Kaleidoscope to work, I must be doing something wrong.......I made one, but it just looked like a picture, there was no motion.

I am going to put somekind of a bench near, so I can sit here by this tree and enjoy. I wish I were small enough to crawl inside, haha.

Hi LIbby, yeh, right now Georgia is having water wars with Alabama, over the water going over our damn, they want to restrick the flow, like Alabama needs more water, they got so much rain they don't know what to do with it all.

Well you know people, they would complain if you hung them with new rope..haha

I haven't heard to many say anything bad about the rain, but there is always a few who don't like their hair to frizz......me, I will take rain and frizzy hair.

I love the tree. It makes me wish I was young and little again. But you can have the rain. Give me a nice sunny day.

What a fabulous tree! I don't mind rain at all but I absolutely hate snow - it's best left on Christmas cards!

Hi HHB, this tree could certainly tell a story couldn't it....haha

Hi Dr. John, me too, I would have loved to play house in a tree like this when I was small.

Hi Akela, we lived in the snow when I was a kids, and I remember loving it, but as Mom always says, "well YOU didn't have to try and get to work in it." But I do remember walking miles in the snow to get to school.....I must have had good boots, I don't remember having cold feet, just cold hands.

Hello Jac, this tree is just beyond my property line in the back of my yard. I am glad that it is private land, so that they won't develope it and cut this tree down. So many of the developers just clean cut before they build. luckily the person who built this home left as many trees as possible. This tree is not on my land, but almost.

We have not had our rainfall in the last few years as we should....so it is very dry.

I live on a hill, so all the rain goes down the creek, I need a pond. I will never need a boat. So does everyone have a boat, or does that seldom happen. There are places here in the states where they often have floods.
