Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

Family Arrived

Trevor, Jennie and TJ arrived last Friday. We picked them up at the airport at 5:15 am. This week, on Friday morning at 5:15 Darrin arrives from Rio Linda, and at 10:00 the same day Scott, Marisol, Andrew and Bailey will be coming in from Texas. I will have all of my kids home at one time. This hasn't happened since Trevor's High School Graduation in 1999. The summer before we moved from California. I am very much looking forward to having everyone all together again. When you have five kids, and they live all over the US, it makes it very hard for everyone to find the time to all get together. But Graduation is one of those times when the kids make an effort. Nick Graduates in another five years, so I can look forward to maybe seeing them all together again 2013. After that, who knows!! I usually have at least one of the boys home for the Holidays, usually Trevor. But Scott was here a couple Thanksgivings back. Darrin is the hard one to get home, he has his own Motorcycle business and it is very hard for him to be gone for any length of time. Plus the fact he has two boys in school, with sports and everything that kids join when in school. As a family grows it gets harder and harder to spend time together. I usually drive all over creation in the summer so that I am able to visit them all, but it is getting harder for me to do this. I am not sure that I will make it this summer. So it is extra special that I am seeing them all now.
