Off The Beaten Path

My photo

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

Midnight Moon

Years ago, when I lived in Louisiana.....

Winds howling through the trees
and the grass whispers a reply
Cajun moon's peekin' thru a blanket
of wispy clouds stark against night.
Around the corner of the old house
rushes a swirl of dancing leaves
my midnight walk, an oh so familiar path
under the stars, my favorite, Orion.
The wind pushes me along tugging, coaxing
warm night wind, soft and caressing.
Crickets a welcome sound telling me
aren't you glad we have this night.....
I can see the tall grasses bending
swaying in time to the syncopated rhythm
of a melody, on my Louisiana bayou.
