Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

Music

John Prine

I bought a new CD today, well it came today, I bought it online a week ago, from a guitar player who lives in Canada. His name is Jay Linden and he plays and sounds very much like John Prine. The voice, the lyrics and the style of his singing. Anyway I bought his CD because I like him so much. Going to listen to it now......and by the way......mentioning John Prine. He will be coming to Savannah in November. I haven't gone anywhere to listen to music in person in a very long time. I have been wanting to go to Savannah anyway, so I am going to go down in November and see John Prine and spend the night. I think I will go alone, because there is no one in my life any more that enjoys the music as I do, and certainly no one that enjoys John Prine. I didn't even know about John Prine prior to 1999, he is another artist that David turned me onto. Most of music that I love best today, David lead me towards. And I thank him for that, in my thoughts, everyday........

Thank you Quilly. My husband and I had a long talk today, we basically decided we really aren't made for one another.....but we both agree, we are kind of stuck with situation until Nick is grown. Then who knows, we may just go our separate ways. In the meantime I am going to start living again.

Pity we live so far apart Nea I would go with you. I love music, never heard of John Prine, but I know you have excellent taste.

Hi Queenie, my taste in music has changed over the years. I used to be totally into rock and roll, but now I love acoustic guitar and what I would call folk/rock/country. I am not into country totally, I like a few songs, but I like music that has lyrics that give deep meaning. I love lyrics......

I laugh at some of the songs that my daughter listens to, they have three words and they repeat them over and over and over.

You would be more than welcome to go with me, I don't really want to go alone. but the last time I went to hear music with my husband, 20 years ago, I said never again. He went to sleep.......and started snoring....

Hi Catch, as I have grown older, I enjoy my music more and more. I used to write lyrics and music reviews, I had given it all up, but going to begin again.....think it will improve the quality of my life.
