Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

The Basement

I worked in the basement tonight. I am in the process of taping sheetrock. I have a lot to do, so I just do a little bit each night. I hadn't worked down there in quite a few days, so I filled my tray three times. I usually just do two, which takes me about an hour to empty. When I have filled the tray twice and emptied it, then I quit for the night. When I got done, I came upstairs, cleaned up my taping tools, ate a bowl of cherrios, let the cat in for the night, took my shower and I am now ready for bed. I think tomorrow I will take my camera downstairs and take a few pictures of the taping process. I never take any before pictures so no one can see what the rooms look like before I am finished. This was no small project, I will be working on these rooms for the next few months, if not longer. Well I am tired and sore, I took two aspirin and I am heading to bed.

Are we related? I think we're related. You would definitely fit right in with most of the women in my family.

HI Bill, It is hard to type with a cat in your lap, or on your shoulder. My cat always comes and crawl from the bed to my shoulder, then under my neck and curls up on my arm. That is the end of typing fo me. Right now I am trying to type with a sore finger, I have a bandaide on it, and it makes me hit the wrong keys.

I don't know what pictures will look like, probably not much and you probably won't really get the idea of what is involved. But I will try. The after pictures would be ana's room and the Office, I won't be taking pictures of Ana's room. She is a bit of a clutter person, she cleans it up and then gets dressed and you can't tell she picked it up. But the walls look nice. haha

HI quilly.....yes, I do think that we come from the same type of stock.......you know the type, if you want something done, do it!!

Mom divorced my Dad when I was one. So I don't really ever remember having a man around. And she would buy these old junk homes. We would drive around and she would say, "now there is a house with possibilities." And I would groan because I KNEW we were going to buy it and I would be doing a lot of the work. I learned to hang sheetrock and tape when I was 11. By the time I was 13 I was a pro. I learned to put in window's at about 12, and hang doors that same year. By the time I was 14 there wasn't much that I didn't know how to do. The difference between now and then, NOW I know how to do them right!! haha. Mom never worried if anything was to code. If it worked, then it was fine. She did manage to do pretty good though with no carpenters education. I lay it onto the fact that she never knew the word can't....
