Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

School Clothes Shopping

Ana has taken Nick to go school clothes shopping. This is something that girls love to do, this is not the case with Nick. He would rather haul rocks or iron his fingers, or both, before he would enjoy shopping for clothes. I tried to explain to Ana, shopping of any type is not quite the guy thing for some guys. And Nick hasn't really completely reached puberty, so he still doesn't care at all how he looks.

I am really in my subconscious wishing them the best, and I think they will need it. I can visualize the scenario as it plays out. They get to the mall, Nick looks around cautiously, (so that Ana won't see him) for the nearest game/video store. She will drag him from one store to the other, all the while he is getting more and more quiet and slump shouldered, until finally she says to him, "WHAT, WHAT!!" and he responds, "can we go home now."

I am thinking they will return with a pair of shoes and a few pairs of socks.......
