Off The Beaten Path

Some people come into our lives and quickly go. Some people move our souls to dance. They awaken us to new understanding with the passing whisper of their wisdom. Some people make the sky more beautiful to gaze upon. They stay in our lives for awhile, leave footprints on our hearts, and we are never ever the same.

The Risks

When you garden you need a modicum of coordination. Without it, you run the risk of snipping your fingers instead of your plants. Two days ago while pruning roses, my middle finger of my left hand decided it was a bit too long and wanted pruned, so I obliged. I didn't cut the whole thing off, but I tried. I think it went about halfway, it stopped because of the nail.... But i now have a nicely pruned finger, yes I put it back together, cleaned and taped it up. That was two days ago. I just took the bandaid off and cleaned it and taped it back up. It is looking a whole lot better than it did two days ago, but the timing was sure bad. I have a day of cooking ahead for me, and do not relish trying to peel vegetables with out that finger. I use it a lot.

Maybe in future I will go a bit slower and use a bit more precision. Maybe leather gloves. hmmmmmmmmmm
